The 46th annual Sranan Dey in Queens New York was a success. The Surinamese Ambassador to the USA , Marten Schalkwijk, the Permanent Representative of Suriname to the UN , Sunil Sitaldin and Consul General Rene Pika addressed the crowd and stressed the importance of the Surinamese Diaspora.

Performances by Marlene Waal, Purdy Sahadeo & Rohied Chan were very much appreciated. “We want more” some chanted when Rohied had to end his performance. It was at his second encore.
